At all levels of government (federal, state, and local) there are complex organizations called bureaucracies. Their job is to devise rules and regulations so that the laws, are properly carried out. .

In this activity, students will experience the “red tape” (complicated procedures) people sometimes encounter when dealing with a bureaucracy.

In groups of two they will imagine that they want to build a new house for themselves but they will experience some "red tape" along the way.

Fun, easy, just print and present.

Includes a student reflection sheet to help them analyze the impact of bureaucratic red tape.
